-err.. sOdium asked me to do this 'lil ac review for him.. (it was a trade
really.. i get an awesome sOdium logo... so.. i'll start.. err.. oh yeah..
it's about my area code.. the infamous 416/905.. toronto ontario, CANADA.. =)
errr.. yeah
  -okay.. first i'm gonna go through the artists and then groups..
  -yeah.. the 416/905 scene has a lot of famous artists, most of them owe
their own talent to one another.. it's a little intricate web.. wO helps
newer artists with self-esteem and their toony skills while 4th helps alot
of new artists with shading and errr.. acceptance.. =) ummm.. i'm gonna do
a little list of all the famous 'current' artists.. as we have had lots, who
are now in a better place.. (not dead you morons.. they went to university,
found religion, and some, just got lives.. =) ) okay..
  -watOr, he's one of the major artists in the scene.. he's the prez of one of
416's largest group, plain.. (if you haven't heard of it, get a clue.) he has
helped *many* new members of the scene get a foothold (myself included) even
helping them with their art if need be. he is also currently in colorlind's
group, TOXiC.. argh.. takes you bak to the WaReZ days doesn't it?
  -nootropic, well.. he ran away from home or something.. so wether or not
he's still in our area code is questionable.. he's now known as diezynik
or something.. he's one of the best pnakotic style artists in the scene
his drawings are all original and his talent for confusing people is un-
contested. he's been in to many groups to list.. but i think he's in ice or
something now.. =)
  -The 4th Disciple is also one of 416's great artists.. he's currently in
dark as one of the senior positions.. he might be the prez. now.. i'll be
fucked if i know.. =) he is a reat artist.. a little wild with his original
styles though.. that's what everyone loves.. =) i don't know if he's ever
done any comic rips or any really large pics and i'm too lazy to go look at
the old dark packs.. =)
  -Xypher Matrix, xm is the president of dark.. except i've heard rumors that
he gave it to 4th.. so for the purposes of this document, 4th is the prez.. =)
xm's logo's are always good, and any sysop that is on the recieving end of
the logo's is always left happy.. (happy! damnit..) =). He is one of the most
experienced artists in the scene as he's been around longer than most of us
"newschools bastards" as errrr.. some people call us.. =)
  -The Green Hornet, tgh is by far the best 'pic' artist in the scene.. his
releases are spread out, but when he does release, quality is at a high..
he is a great artist, who can shade and put his stuff into proportion like an
'ansi master'.. =) except his sources aren't always 100% original.. but who
cares.. =)
  -Armageddon Donut, yeah.. i spelt it wrong.. fuck yew.. i call him 'ad'.. =)
and it's donut not doughnut you fuckin yanks.. =) ad is my personal favorite
toon artist in the *world* and he still owes me my ansi. his toon pics are
always original, and funny. and he's helped alot of new artists with their
shading techniques.. all you bums should download a plain or dark pack and
check out ad's awesome pics.
  -Smokey, yeah.. i included him here because I decided to include ascii
artists as well as ansi artists.. smokey has helped many upcoming ascii
artists with their 'curvy' styles as he so taught me.. the bastard.. =)
he runs a great board.. shaolin temple.. call it.. i don't have the number,
fine me on irc and get it from me.. he's an awesome ascii artist who is now
turning his talents towards ansi.. his ansi needs some work, but a great
artist nontheless..
  -hOlocaust, hO (previously known as dR.tRANCE.. what the fuck was he
thinking?! =) ) holocaust is an excellent ascii artist.. very original..
he's currently prez. of the ex-dead basic!ascii productions.. he has a lot
of work on his hands.. and he's another one who owes me art.. =)
  -that's it for artists.. now the group reviews.. plain, dark, hype, prestige
adment and NDt
  -plain, plain is an excellent ansi/ascii/vga group.. it's released 8 packs
to this date, all of which have recieved raving reviews.. watOr is the prez.
  -dark, dark is a more established group in 416.. it's list of artists are
all good drawers.. some have gone on to ice and acid, while some have come
from ice and acid.. =) it's prez. is 4th.. (or xm.. =) )
  -hype, hype has only released one pack so far in its life time.. but so far,
it has *great* potential.. it's prez. is trident, who's ansi and management
skills are good, and improving.. it's member list includes a lot of improving
artists as well as some established ones..
  -adment, the info on this group is kind of shadowy.. its prez. is egoteq
i think.. i don't want to admit that i've only downloaded the first pack..
=) sorry guys.. =) umm.. it's a great group.. talented artists and good
management..
  -prestige and NDt. i included these two together because they are identical
rivals. NDt and prestige are not exactly the best two groups in the scene..
nor are they going to be anytime soon. both have been caught of ripping and
both have failing artists.. this isn't a smash against either group and i do
not hate either group.. they just need to bump up on quality and check their
packs before they release them.
