Dear RCN,
Well, I have just finished reading most of RCN 17, I especially
liked how only one side of the story was presented about the ROR
takeover by Razor 1911. In a minute, I will explain how everything got
started, but first, I would like to comment on whoever did the interview
for RCN.
RCN editors have recently been talking a lot of the use of the word
lame to describe, saying it is over used and that most of the people
saying it are the lame ones. The person who conducted the interview for
RCN, flat out call ROR lame. I am not sure who was doing this
interview, but I would assume it was Rebel Chicken. If I remember
youve run 3 basic shit groups, and you have the balls to call another
group lame?
In RORs worst time, it kicked the fuck out of VND or FSW. An
unbiased emag? I dont think so. I was on the Internet the entire time
the shit went down, NEVER ONCE, was I asked for RORs side of the story.
If you had time to get Razor 1911s side, you had time to get RORs. Or
maybe youre too lame to do that much at one time?
Now, onto how this all unfolded. ROR has had many problems with
takeover, usually because of friends. We op someone on a friends list,
then they op someone else. This was the case that night. Rom Racer, as
he often does, had ops in ROR. A ROR member named KH was in the
channel, Rom Racer banned KH, after being told a few times before over
the past 2 days, not to ban or kick members. After KH was re-added to
the bot user lists had been reset, he ban kicked Rom Racer. Other
Razor 1911 members who had ops started trying to do mass deops, one of
these people included Loloc, and ROR member when I saw people starting
to do mass deops, I started to ban kick them to get things under
control, during all of the deopping and kicking the channel became
desynched.
While doing a resynch, I became heavily lagged, and Loloc managed to
get into ROR, and get ops, he opped several Razor members who tookover
the channel. After talking to a few Razor 1911 people, we were able to
get things under control, and worked out, and soon got ROR back. End
of story.

Dear RCN,
Alright, so we saw at least 3-5 couriering groups come and go last
year. at least 10 release groups, and I dont say games or utils, since
all the groups that were formed in 1995-1996 besides.. err CORP.. and
umm Legacy, are going in both directions which is completely lame.
So now we have a scene, where every guy who has a shell and phoenix
and who is not banned from exceed, considers himself a part of. A
scene proud of having 40 releases a day, 35 of which, I can say right
now, will not work. Come to think of it , most of what will seem to
work, will be shareware, or will not be 100 cracked.
There are exactly 5 groups on the scene that I trust enough, to be
downloading their releases, and knowing they will work. As sad as it
may sound it is the truth. I will tell an even sadder example, a lame
group , releases a lame ware that might actually work that I might want
for one reason or another. The lame group then gives the release to a
lame official couriering group and what do we get? Elite couriers,
fresh off warez950, trading the release in ascii mode. I fucking swear
I have seen more than one example of that.
Why do release groups rate every ware they release as a 10/10 ware?
I understand its cool to have a good util and rate it high, but when a
group like, lets not mention names here, releases a ware Pastry Mixer
for windows 95 xx/50 where all the content was ripped and only the
coolest .wavs and .avis were left within the release goes and states,
ok 10/10 for this one. Give me a fucking break.. the group just earns
itself a shitty reputation, and after a few releases like that, it is
banned from all major boards and sites all the releases from xxx group
are nuked automatically, regardless of content.
I still havent given credit where its due. As shitty as everything
may seem, we still have excellent groups, releasing quality warez, to
keep the scene going. We still see good boards, have 0 hour files, the
way it should be. We still have the good sites, getting gigs of 0 min
stuff weekly. What can I say? Its all up to the people we will hand
the scene over to in a few years, to decide whether they want to make it
worse, or better, or destroy it completely damn, you never know what
those Warez950 people are capable of.
Well, thats it for my little 0.02, have fun, trade lots, and get
good grades in school. Grades are very, very important those of you
who are still in kindergarten, please disregard that message.

theyre slow, they suck, or any other bull shit comments. I myself am a
fATE head, and I seriously think you should try to avoid group bashing,
especially if its a group that HAS been in the scene for over a year.
And if youre gonna talk shit about groups, then talk shit about some

Alright, this is a response not just to Miller but to everybody that
thinks similarly about anything that was ever posted about RCN. Before
you make such a harsh accusation of somebody, check yourself first. I
dont mean to make a public humiliation out of Miller, but I would be
very impressed if you could just ONCE point out any place where any RCN
Editor Rebel Chicken or Hitex has ever group bashed on fATE. Alright,
Ive given you plenty of time to think, so now that you know youre
wrong yes, apology accepted lets explain a little about what it means
to accuse RCN of such a task.
When someone submits an article or an interview, it is HIS/HER
opinion only. Do I need to make a fuckin disclaimer? I dont think
so. Thats lame. This is an e-mag and everybody in the scene should
have enough goddamned common sense to figure out that if it doesnt say
the name of any RCN editor at the top, its not necessarily the view of
RCN as a whole! In fact, if it does say the name of an RCN Editor, its
not necessarily that of an RCN writer. What is RCN? No, not the e-mag
part. What makes up the RCN Backbone? Its the editors and the
coordinators such as RoadRebel.
If youre a writer but you dont write for a week, your name will
not be in the credits that week. If youre an editor, however, you are
responsible for what you say and it is assumed that your feelings are
also that of any other editor. If you ever see Hitex or Rebel Chicken
bash any group, you will then be able to say we group bashed, but until
then, it is simply the views of someone that wrote for RCN.
If the Chairman of Microsoft were to write for PC Magazine bashing
IBM, I would assume none of you would go out and accuse PC Magazine of
bashing IBM. The same respect should be extended to RCN.

Dear RCN,
So many people trade warez today. So many people striving to be the
best they can be and having the highest position in the scene. So
many people staying up for hours on end to courier that new release,
crack that new game, make their group the best. Do these people have
ANY lives? Dont get me wrong I LOVE warez and the scene and it takes
up A LOT of my time, but its fun and thats what we are all here for.
The reason trading warez is so enjoyable is because the warez world is
an imaginary one, we rule it. WE have the high positions. WE are
considered to be GODS. This is very cool because in the real world
most of us are students and kids. Constatly being told No, you cant
do this No, you cant do that. The warez world lets us escape into a
fantasy world, a world of our own.
The only problem with this is when the fantasy warez world starts to
rule our real world. People who stay on the net for days on end with
no sleep and only stopping to eat and piss. I have been a victim of
this many times before and I want it to STOP. The world of warez does
not have any effect on the real world whatsoever. Dont get me wrong I
LOVE the scene and warez, but there is a point where it has to stop.
Trading warez is VERY fun and that is the number one reason people do
it. The competition is also a very big reason. Competing through warez
is like any sport you can think of. A bunch of teams Groups compete
against one another and try to score points Release/Crack/Whatever your
speciality is in the Scene. Doing this gives us all a rush and makes us
feel special. I dont want to sound dumb, but you cant deny it. When
someone releases an awesome ware that everyone wants to download they
feel like the shit. I guess this is enough reason to be in the scene
because it is fun, it is enjoyable.
Those who criticize us usually dont have an understanding about how
fun it is. Well, think about it, how much fun does it sound to sit on
the computer for hours and type away at whatever your doing. I guess
its worth it but thats my opinion, yours might be different.
I have one more thing to say. Groups who fight all the time and
hate eachother are stupid. The scene was created to have competition
and fun, not to hate others who are trying to do the same thing you are.
Everyone is here to do what they do best, specializing in one field or
another. Ask yourself, if you are criticizing someone else, what makes
me so much better than them. We are all here for the same purpose,
dont spoil it for everyone.

Dear RCN,
Starting as of June 16, 1996, warez+ is back in busines. They
decided to have a bit of a reunion, so they reopened the channel. The
original ops are back also. Channel Warez+ was always one of the best
WarezX channels. Although now when people join the channel, no one even
remembers it and say thing like, Oh great, another lame warez channel.
Warez+ was always the hangout of the more elite warez traders. Right
now it is just anyone and everyone + their dog. They are currently
trying to get off the ground again, and once again striving to become an
elite warezX trading channel. As far as I have seen, they are doing a
good job. The ops are very nice, not the typical I dont like that, so
I will kick-ban you ops.
Although, I do have one small complaint, which is the auto kick-ban
of *!*@*.ipt.aol.com, because I dont think it is fair to be prejudiced
and say that all users from AOL are not worthy enough to be in a warezX
trading channel, because I know of some very elite people from AOL, that
have the online service for other reasons then its so easy and friendly
to use.
Other then that, I like warez+, and believe it should be supported
by anyone and everyone. My suggestion to the ops is to get some Offer
Bots going in there, just to make it pick up users, and maybe try some
things that other channels havent.
And another thing, I know that you are barely restarting the
channel, and not too many people know about it, but anything you do
DONT MASS INVITE! Advertise it to your friends and have them join,
then let them personally tell people to join. Not just so you wont annoy
people, but the probability is that these users will be dedicated to
your channel rather then warez5, warez950, warez666, and such. Think
if you would like somebody mass inviting in you channel for
warezwhatever. I dont think you would, so dont do it.
Back on the subject of banning ISPs, I have been getting more and
more pissed off lately. I am a Netcom Dial-Up PPP/SLIP user. Not only am
I K-Lined from every EFNet server, but now I am banned from a majority
of Warez Channels. I hang out on WarezX channels about 1 or less of my
time that I am on iRC, so this really doesnt affect me. But there are A
LOT of traders that can bring in a lot of warez and trades for your
channel, but you have ALL Netcom users banned on your bots. If you feel
guilty which you should, please take the *!*@*.ix.netcom.com ban off
of your bots. Thank You and Goodnight.

Tasm, you need to grow up. You know that the only reason you are
doing this is because he is LIKED and you arent. Everyone is getting
tired of your shit, and you are bringing, NvC down because of it. This
is a letter of warning to people, Tasm loves to fake logs, tell lies and
try to frame people. He is known around the net for it. He is sneaky,
backstabbing and not trustworthy for ANYTHING.
If he truely is the vice-president of NvC that club is in a hell of
a lot of trouble. I have tried to take it, but that stunt with Ransom
was nothing more than a fake log and a personal war with him. You never
did like him, why didnt you talk about that in your little letter, talk
about the way you talked about him behind his back when Insanity was
still around, talk about the way you couldnt stand it because Dragon
Star liked him better than you, no matter how much you kissed his ass.
But I guess thats just how some people do.
I know how you work, you were the one who got me kicked out of NvC,
by saying I was spying for Violation. You know good and well I wasnt.
You just have a bad problem when it comes to keeping your mouth shut,
and you think EVERYTHING has to go your way.
You didnt talk about the way you kicked me out either did you. How
you accused me of spying. So if you can accuse me of spying why not
accuse Ransom of deleting. Hell just get rid of the people you dont
like and before long you will be running the group. Thats what your
plan is and always was. Well it looks like you got your way. But look
at all the respect you lost doing it, and think to yourself, was it
really worth it? Worth damaging the rep. of NvC for life and making you
look like a liar?

In response to the question of new groups popping up, I think that
there can be a problem here. When you see a new release, and you spend
your time downloading it, only to find that some half-assed group of
12-year olds has slapped together something that Daddy brought home and
didnt even bother to crack the fucker, youre gonna be pissed. Groups
like that need to get out of the way of the bigger groups and let the
experienced people handle the scene, or get their shit together and
start doing things properly, the right way. I know its not easy, I
mean god, I couldnt run a decent release group, let alone be a
dedicated courier, but if you are going to spend your time and that of
others releasing shit, you best do it right.

Dear RCN,
It seems like today a lot of the people affiliated with the scene
have begun to designate everyone as either a lamer or an elite. Almost
everyone on IRC yells LAMER at someone else because of something as
simple as a file request. Similarly, if someone belongs to a group, be
him the lowliest courier who doesnt even do half his share, in many
channels will be revealed as elite. This elite designation also falls
on channel ops, who often get op status for nothing other than IRC
relation to the other ops.
Ive been around the warez scene for at least 12 years. I can
remember when couriering really ment COURIERING. 300 bps modems
couldnt compare with walking to a friends house with a handful of
5.25 disks and just copying what new stuff he had. Ill bet hardly
anyone in the scene today can name members of groups like Eaglesoft, DCS
Doughnut Cracking Service, and a few others.
But does knowing these things make me elite? I hope that that fact
alone does NOT. Ive pretty much done it all, opped warez channels, run
a BBS, and done freelance couriering between FTP sites and BBSs. I even
coded some BBS mods. Still, I was never part of an official group. So
am I a lamer because I never had my name at the bottom of a grop .NFO
file? I hope not. The point is this - warez, in its entirety, is a
win-win situation for practically everyone in the scene. Why someone
who enters a channel asking for a particular ware gets branded a lamer
and kicked, while 3 idlers sit motionless watching the world go by, is a
mystery to me. The only lamers in the warez scene are those who work
to destroy it.

bull shit is just so overplayed in the scene. A new person is branded
lamer about as often as Michael Jackson fucks another male kid. Its
just an everyday thing and makes no sense at all. Will it end? Do you
REALLY think Michael Jackson will ever stop? Of course not. Its
stupid, pointless, but it seems to make these channel ops feel big, and
heck, if it makes them happy, they can just go ahead and do it that
doesnt apply to Michael Jackson, though.

I was shocked when I read RCN 17 this past weekend. After reading
your interview with Endeavour, founder of COPS, and making my own
assessment of COPS, I wondered if anything could possibly be in a sadder
shape than COPS.
COPS NFO is one of the worst ones Ive EVER seen. Whoever drew it
lacks talent and the person that added the text should be charged with
plagiarism. These guys lack originality and most of their information
comes from other groups. They have ripped off parts of DOD, Razor, and
PWAs NFOs. The only original statement is the groups quote and that
is one of hypocrisy. COPS will beat you and you will like it! The
only thing these poor bastards will be beating is their meat.
Endeavour, if the indication that you guys coming on strong is
through your releases, may God help you all. When a non-foreign group
starts releasing software in another language, then you know it is in
trouble. A few weeks ago, COPS released MS-Access in Chinese. What is
wrong with you people? Less than 15 of the scene is Asian or even
Chinese and Im pretty sure the majority of these people is content with
their English versions. There is nothing like preparing an English
database in a Chinese program. Also, when you released Blake Stone, you
knew that the files dated back to 1993, yet you gave the go-ahead to
release. This indicates your sloppy leadership and the sad shape that
COPS is in. For no decent group leader, including groups smaller than
yours, would have released such crap that one can find in the bargain
bin at your local software store. At the rate you guys are coming on
strong, it may take COPS a century to reach the magnitute of what
Mortality is today.
Endeavour, you have no right to rag on Malice. I remember back in
February, you used to come into MALiCE and beg us to courier your
releases. We kicked and kicked yet you kept on rejoining the channel.
I have to admit, you are very persistent and arrogant. Otherwise, COPS
would not be alive today. You think that Malice is dead today, but
theyll always have more of a fighting chance to regroup than COPS. I
am surprised that fATE accepted COPS under their protective wing.
Surely, fATE has more sense and respectability than that. But then
again, fATE is a second-rate couriering group. Any decent courier group
will not have a releasing division to back up and/or supplement their
couriering. I hope that Doobie will come to his senses and kick you out
as Malice has done.
In conclusion, the only thing COPS will professionally specialize
in is crap. In fact, why not change the name to Crappy Old Pirated
Shareware? This name would state the true nature of COPS. If you guys
are coming on strong, then groups such as PWA must be flying in a
rocket. If a member of COPS today is the NEW batch and holds the key to
the future of the scene, then perhaps we should all quit or retire now
to avoid the pain and humiliation that will come later.

I tend to want to keep an open mind about a group. COPS has gone
through some majorly shitty releases that I honestly dont think anybody
in the scene uses today, but I will keep their future open in my mind.
They have just as much of a chance to raise their standards as any new
group today. I can only hope that this negative publicity will maybe
catalyze Endeavours understanding that he should perhaps raise the
standard of COPS to a new degree. As for fATE, every group has its good
times and bad times. Perhaps fATE is going through a slump right now.
I have no doubt in my mind that they could make themselves great again.

Dear RCN,
Im just writing out of disgust. My story is a common one, but
nevertheless, a sad one. I used to be a lamer CRINGE! just like
everyone else I find it extremely hard to believe that any of you
started out by moving files for RiSC!. But, like one dude said in RCN
17 theres no skill in warez, just contacts, I had made some good
contacts and I moved up the warez pyramid. It was a long climb, and I
came nowhere near the top, but I dont give two shits about that now! I
was involved in the fledgling community several years ago, and my
involvement has carrived to today. I have several past and present
affiliations, but nothing like RiSC or Prestige. You see, a long time
ago in the world of warez, I realized that those on the top were
dropping like flies, and although they had worked long and hard to get
there, they were all burnt out! I was and still am a 0-6 MONTH trader,
and you know what? It doesnt matter! It doenst fucking matter at
all! I have seen the elite come and go, and it never changes. Sure,
I think it would be cool someday to have 5 phone lines all dedicated to
moving files, but is it worth giving up my life for? No, not at all!
You see, people in the scene are always saying stuff like Man,
you gotta take responsibility for your actions, you gotta relize that
you could be arrested, but ironically, these same people dont take
responsibility for their involvement. I know people are flying through
the ranks of warez faster than ever now, but what happens? They all end
up on the far end of the spectrum, under the burnt out category.
People dont seem to realize whats going on. If youre going to take
responsibility for trading commercial software illegally, you have to
take responsibility for your rise in doing so. It pisses me off to hear
people complain about how they have no life because of warez, and that
warez ruined them, and that they become burnt out and retire. I realize
for some people, myself included, being involved for a long period of
time does take its toll, and I feel that if you have spent the past 4-or
so, or however many years moving files, that you deserve the retirement
you take, but these people that fly through in a matter of weeks, or
even months, I mean get real people!
Its all about responsibility and maturity. Take it slow, theres
no big deal about it. Its a hobby, and hobbies are supposed to be fun,
right? I hope this will serve as a rude awakening for some of you. If
youre just starting out, dont feel intimidated by the bigger, older
elite members of the community. Dont feel pressured into spending 16
hours of YOUR day behind a computer pressing buttons and moving 0
nanosecond warez. For me, warez is just a hobby, and I dont plan on
changing anything. I am perfectly satisfied doing this in my free time.
If that makes me less-l337 than you, so what? I only do this in the
evening and when I have or need some time to relax for a bit.
I guarantee to you it will be more fun for me and I will be around
longer. If youre already established in the scene, maybe this will help
you re-evaluate what youre doing. I dont think warez is bad at all,
but I think all those involved need to take more responsibility for the
scene. When it gets to the point where it is no longer fun, i is
tedious and a job and you feel pressured into doing it, take a break!
Even if that means cutting back from 15+ megs a day to 75+ and then 50+,
do yourself a favor, and do everyone else involved a favor. Be
responsible. If youre going to get involved, fine, just dont bail out
in 6 months time and say you are all burnt out and you have no life and
just bitch and complain about the scene. Consider yourself warned.

Youre right, the scene is about having fun. If you have no life,
that sucks for you, but if you have no life because of the scene, you
need to get the hell out. The scene isnt a prison, its a beach-side
resort. If youre so tanned youre almost burnt, get the hell out, but
put on some sun screen beforehand and youll be able to take it slower
and be around for a much longer amount of time.

RCN : Can you give me a rough picture of who you are and how you pertain
to the warez scene?
EVR : Im basically just a courier that can be very dedicated to the
scene. I know everyone knows just how much I love the scene! I
started out 4 years ago and very slowly worked my way up. It
takes much loyalty and dedication to get places.
RCN : What are some of your prior affiliations?
EVR : Ive been a part of RiSC, Razor 1911, Tyranny, Genesis,
Generation-X, Everlast, Prophecy, Scum, Pirates with Attitudes,
Drink or Die, Hybrid, Dynamix, and few others not worth
mentioning.
RCN : Which of these affiliations did you most treasure and enjoy being
a part of?
EVR : To tell you the truth, RiSC, but as you might know, I left for
some undisputed reasons. RiSC is the best group ever. Very loyal
people like Eagle 1, Enforcer, Pharaoh, and Crackpot, make RiSC
what it is. I was treated with respect in the group.
RCN : What were the reasons for your departure from RiSC?
EVR : I had an argument with a netmonkey by the name of Suspicious
Image. He thought he could boss me around in the group, so I said
screw this shit and left! For example, he would threaten to get
me kicked out due to inactivity and so on, so I said to myself who
the fuck does this lamer think he is!?
RCN : So you went and joined Everlast? Would that have been a second
choice to RiSC? Which do you enjoy more?
EVR : Well, I joined Everlast so I couldnt really tell you who is
better to me, but Everlast is a bunch of good friends that joined
together to make the group. Its really cool. Mr. Skill,
Asmodeus, Blue Adept, Shatter Star, Immortal, are all pretty cool
guys.
RCN : I seem to remember that Shatter Star was in RiSC for a short
while. Yet he, too, left for Everlast. Could this be said to be
an overall statement about the attitudes of RiSC versus those of
Everlast?
EVR : Yes. To tell you the truth, Im not the only one that left
because of Sispicious Image. There are others. People like him
seem to make the group lame, and I think action should be taken
towards people like him. To tell you the truth, I think RiSC is
falling apart.
RCN : RiSC, in your opinion, is falling apart. Do you mean, in other
words, that Everlast is taking RiSCs old place in the scene?
EVR : No, I think RiSC will always be a dominant group, but itll just
lose its touch. Everlast kicks ass, but I cant tell you the
future man.
RCN : What do you think of a new revamped group called GODS? They
have split up both Digital and Amnesia to form themselves, what do
you expect this will do to the couriering scene?
EVR : To tell ya the truth, I think this GODS group will kick some ass,
but well just have to see how long theyll last. Groups come and
go these days. Kinda reminds me of my old group Cartel. They
seem to have some pretty cool guys in there, but they will have to
establish themeselves on the big boards like Akira and Park
Central. RiSC and Everlast are kicking ass on the boards.
RCN : Does Everlast have any organized IRC channels going for it yet?
EVR : Yup, Everlast is becoming a very good channel as of late. One
last thing, what the fuck is up Razor 1911s ass? They dissed me
in their last nfo and I want to know what the fuck I did to them
besides smoke their asses on releases when I was in Hybrid. Fuck
they say Im a backstabber. Fuck I used to so much when I was in
Razor. I upload to their damn pay sites 24 hours a day, and this
is what I get, a kick in the fucking ass!! Well all I gotta say

RCN : What exactly did he get busted for? How did they catch him?
--- : Laugh, well, they accused him of hacking into the FAU Florida
Atlanta State University and destroying someones email. He was
also caught stealing files from the FAU. Its in the newspapers.
RCN : Do you think hell ever make it back into the scene?
--- : No, I dont think hell ever come back. Its cost him too much
pain these past few day. Besides, after all this, I dont think
Id let him back in the scene. If he does come back, I think
itll be a while, considering he doesnt have a computer right now
and such.
RCN : Could you tell us what he might want to say to the scene, if he
were given the chance?
--- : I think hed say, Blah, go blow a toad.
RCN : What are your feelings toward the FAU?
--- : The FAU is really stupid if they think theyre going to get away
with this and still survive. If they do ANYTHING to harm him more
than they already have, I shall reap my revenge somehow. Dr.

RCN : You were recently busted and raided by the RCMP Royal Canadia
Mounted Police, but now I hear that you are back in the scene.
Is that true, and if so, how are you able to come back to the
scene?
DEM : Well, the police didnt have enough evidence on me so they had to
give me back my computer hardware that they confiscated. The main
charges were for stolen merchandise, but when the confiscated
hardware was not the stolen material they were looking for, they
were forced to give my stuff back and let me go. They basically
had dick-all for evidence. Although they said they were going to
be keeping an eye on me, which probably means having a fat cop
watching me all day to see if I go into any computer stores, that
fat cop will probably be too busy eating donuts to catch me.
RCN : How did the RCMP found out that you were Demaxxus in the first
place?
DEM : I honestly have no idea how they found me. The only way I can
think of is if one of the stores Ive found stuff from gave the
police my name. I was recently caught on video tape at Future
Shop getting a modem, so they would have had a picture of me to
give to the police. Either that, or one of the RATS from our area
code most famously known for ratting on Anarchist made a little
anonymous phone call.
RCN : Is it true that they actually tapped your phone line to get
evidence, and if so, how long did they listen in on your
interesting phonecalls?
DEM : Well, Im not sure if they actually tapped my line, in fact, in
this technologically impaired city, I highly doubt it. Although
they must have been checking on my phone line somehow, because
when they first came to my house, they briefly spoke about
carding, but that was it, they never mentioned it after that.
RCN : What did you think when the RCMP was at your door 7:30 a.m. with a
warrant?
DEM : My first thought was, Fuck, what did my brother do now, but when
they asked for me, I almost shit a brick. I couldnt believe
theyd finally caught up to me. I thought that they might have
come to my house because I used to be on Anarchists board, but
then they told me they were at my house with a warrant in regard
to stolen merchandise.
RCN : We all love our famous RCMP officer by the name of TOM JAMES, but
would he have been the one leading this investigation that led to
your bust?
DEM : No, to my surprise, he never entered this situation at all. I
dont even think it was the RCMP RCMP Royal Canadian Mounted
Police Canadian FBI, it was just the local police. I was kind
of sad when he didnt show up, I didnt have a chance to give him
a mint and a bottle of scope. I guess he wasnt part of my bust
because the warrant for my bust had nothing to do with the
Anarchist, and the topic was just on stolen property. Neither the
RCMP nor Tom James was in on my bust.
RCN : I was informed that you werent happy about something which was
making a front page in the newspaper, is this true and how come a
local story like this not make it?
DEM : YES! I was fucking pissed off when they didnt have my bust in
the newspaper, nevermind the front page. If when I get busted,
I want to be in the newspaper, I dont know why, I just do. Im
not sure why my story didnt make it. Maybe it was because the
evidence they had on me was so shaky. And since I got let go, it
wouldnt look too good for the police if the story was in the
newspaper, and then have another story in which they had to let me
go.
RCN : Perhaps you were not in the newspaper because someone else known
as the Anarchist stole the spotlight earlier this year?
DEM : Well, I cant blame it wholy on Anarchist, but partially, yes. If
he didnt get into kiddie porn, the RCMP never would have come to
our area code, and everything would be ok. But, since the RCMP
didnt have anything to do with my bust, it still would have
happened, no matter what. Basically, he didnt fuck me up, but he
fucked up the scene here bhwhahahah... 3 people make up the scene
in my area code, one of which moved out of my area code and is
interviewing me right now.
RCN : Now that you are back in the scene, what are your future plans?
DEM : I dont have any permanent plans as of yet, except that Im going
to start coding again PCBoard Programing Language, and Im going
to start supplying for a group run by a friend. Ill be supplying
coffee and donuts, not warez, that would be ILLEGAL!!!
RCN : Which groups are you going to be supplying and coding for?
DEM : I will be coding for pUNC People Under No Control, and Ill be
supplying for RTN Revolution.
RCN : I noticed you were a member of ACiDiC, ACiDs Ansi Creators in
Demand BBS modding division, why did you leave a group with such
reputation for a new group known as pUNC?
DEM : Well, since Im going to be too busy with school, Im only going
to have time to code for one group. I am very good friends with
the leader of pUNC, Luptin, so I decided to stay there.
RCN : You used to run a group called ANGUiSH, and since you can supply,
wouldnt you rather just stick with your own group?
DEM : ANGUiSH was just a BBS modding group, so supplying wouldnt be
much good there. Plus, I wont be able to supply forever, and
there are already too many groups in the scene, so it would surely
fail in no time. And since there are so many groups, most of the
good suppliers and couriers are already in good groups, and would
not leave them for a no-name group.

RCN : What do you do in Prestige?
PSG : I am the founder, the leader, I run the World Headquartewrs, and I
supply.
RCN : Does Prestige release games or utilities?
PSG : Games of course!
RCN : How many games would you say you release over the period of one
week?
PSG : As many as we can. It varies depending on how many titles come
out per week. Since we began, though, weve released 90 of
everything put out on the market in the past 2 months.
RCN : What does Prestige mean or stand for?
PSG : It doesnt really stand for anything. Its just a name we thought
up two years ago when we were Amiga only.
RCN : Have you had a lot of trouble with egos with your members?
PSG : We have no internal problems with egos. We are working for a
similar goal. Just because a member is colorful in speech doesnt
really matter to me, unless he is putting others down. Then,
theres a problem. I am not the one to decide whether or not my
members can brag over our work. We are all here to have a good
time so lets have it!
RCN : Are you happy with your group? Do you think youve been a
success?
PSG : Yes, I am pleased with what we have achieved so far.
RCN : Is Prestige currently accepting new members? If so, what
positions are currently available?
PSG : Since Prestige is mostly a BBS group with the next MIXED in we are
in need of modem couriers. We arent in the need for any
net-based members, though. I get asked 2-3 times a day from
someone to join the group.
RCN : About how many members strong is your group?
PSG : We currently have 25 very talented members on our team.
RCN : Tell us your opinions regarding other groups.
PSG : I dont really give much thought to other groups. One thing that
bothers me about todays groups is that they dont really care
much for quality. Groups today are more worried about being the
FIRST to put something up than doing it right. Its really bad to
name groups but Napalm is/was a group that had this attitude.
This is the reason for us starting Prestige. We wanted to bring
quality to the scene.
RCN : Have you had any trouble with other groups trying to down your
group?
PSG : Nah, what others say about us is not relevent. One thing that
kinda pissed me off was when Napalm stole our crack from Toshinden
and spread it worldwide, claiming they beat us. That wasnt very
cool.
RCN : Would you say that Napalm is the worst group on the net?
PSG : No, Napalm is far from being the worst group. I bet you didnt
know that I was in Napalm right before I started up Prestige PC.
Actually, it was Napalm that made me want to start Prestige PC.
RCN : So Napalm is lower than the worst group that ever was?
PSG : Nah, Napalm is a good group. It just needs to take its time on
releasing. That way it can be sure that its cracks work. Only
problem is that we will beat them.
RCN : So why did you want to start Prestige? What gave you the idea to
make your own group?
PSG : Prestige exists for one reason alone, todays groups dont care
about quality. I was tired of being part of a scene that didnt
give a fuck if the games worked or not. You have got to take note
that Prestige on the Amiga released 79 titles in 7 months, all
100 working quality games, and never needed a fix. This is the
quality I am trying to bring to the PC scene.
RCN : Do you think Prestige is headed for the top?
PSG : We are the top.
RCN : How long as Prestige been around?
PSG : 2 years on the 23rd of this month.
RCN : Yet, I have just noticed Prestige on the market. What happened?
PSG : We decided to become more focused on releasing for the PC. It
seems that this focusing has changed our group around making it
one of the best on the net, but the net is secondary to us. We
are still mainly a BBS bound group.
RCN : So do you think Prestige is the best on the net? If not, which
group do you feel is?
PSG : Yes, I think Prestige is the best on the net.
RCN : Has running a group really taken your whole life away from you?
PSG : Nope, not at all. You just have to know how to delegate
responsibilities!
RCN : This is kind of personal but do you have a girlfriend?
PSG : I have a wife and kids. Still, I manage to keep my hours split.
I have a 24-hour connection to the net so Im on IRC very often.
And I manage to keep adequate time to spend with my family, my
group, and my job. I run a computer sales and marketing business.
RCN : So why are you more of a BBSer than an Interneter?
PSG : The Internet is good, but it all started on BBSes! I guess I am
an old-timer. I think its better to beat Razor 1911 on Beyond
Akira or their WHQ than it is to beat them on LA or BBX. So we
try to beat them on both. So far we are beating everyone on BBSs
and on the Internet with time to spare. You see, its really nice
when you can upload all your titles to your BBS and then to the
WHQs of other groups and still have time to win on the net too.
See my point of quality before speed?? I have been in the scene
since 1987, in Commodore 64, Amiga, and the PC.
RCN : So in your time in the scene, has anyone ever really upset you?
If so, please give me their nicks.
PSG : Samir and Mok! They were in Prestige Amiga. The organizer and
the best cracker in the world, hands down. He retired at the
prime of Prestige. We went on an 8-month dry spell and then
decided to start up the PC division.

Subject : Druggy the Narq Affiliation : ex-Motiv8 Council
RCN : There are many rumors spread by Motiv8 members that you are a
narq. Youve been accused of narqing on many sites such as Nihil
and Dropship, and you have also been accused of narqing on many
people in the scene such as Pseduo, Storm, and Sub. Assuming that
you do not believe that these rumors are true, then what do you
have to show to prove that these accusations are not true?
DRG : I would like to remedy myself from all these rumors that are being
spread by Motiv8 members. As far as I know, the site Nihil has
merely changed ports and has not been busted. I dont know much
about Dropship, but it was never on my list, and I dont even know
the sites IP. Pseudo has left Motiv8 for another courier group
called Stealth, therefore his site has not been busted as people
so stubbornly say. Storm, whom I have recently spoken to, still
operates his site with full force, so how can Motiv8 say I busted
him? From what I heard, Sub has merely left Motiv8 to be a siteop
in another courier group called Rapier.
RCN : So youre saying that you did not narq on anyone?
DRG : That is all the sites and siteops in Motiv8 who have been busted
and sites that have been dismantled because of my narqing on them.
It is sad to see one of the more older and respected groups have
to lower themselves to such a level, as to bring someone down with
their slowly dying group.
RCN : There is also proof that private sites that belonged to SIN
Sinful Traders, a group in which you were a leader in, was also
busted. Why were the siteops from your group busted?
DRG : Other SIN sites and their operators may have been busted only
getting their access taken away from the sites but that is my
business and under my jurisdiction, as they were sites in SIN, and
SIN was MY GROUP, making this whole conflict between myself and
Motiv8 defunct. Motiv8 is trying to turn away from the fact, that
they are beginning to lose their sites to faster groups such as
GODS and RiSC.
RCN : How did the siteops from SIN get busted?
DRG : The actual ways in which of SINs siteops got caught had nothing
to do with me. Random, the siteop of the SIN WHQ was disbanded
from being system administrator at his business in Mississipi as
our group filled up his 3 gigabyte HD, rendering no cache space
available for the server to use, as it was down for maintanence,
therefore crashing the system. The other system administrators
was there to resolve the problem and find the pirated material.
Random was then fired from his job instead of being imprisoned as
he earlier told me.
RCN : What about the fact that this was his Randoms second bust? You
mentioned in RCN 16 that this was Randoms second bust? Is there
some discrepancy in your story?
DRG : The same thing happened before. His HD got filled. Ask anyone
who was in SIN at the time. He found out when he got to work the
next day, deleted the pirated software. The other system
administrator came, and blamed it on Random, as vital information
towards the business was to be stored on the site, and Random was
new there.
RCN : That answer only covers how Random got busted. Ive also been
informed that another SIN siteop, Nettwerk, was recently busted.
How was Nettwerk busted?
DRG : Nettwerk, a new addition to our crew at SIN, was busted even
before his site was fully functional. Therefore his apprehension
had absolutely no connection to the site list I distributed to my
group.
RCN : You have shown that the rumors started by Motiv8 against you might
just be rumors, but I want to know WHY Motiv8 would do such a
thing? What do they have to gain? It makes no sense that Motiv8
would start rumors to say taht you are a narq, perhaps they are
not rumors?
DRG : Rumors they are, I am not a narq. I have run and maintained 3 and
now 4 groups. The way I narqed was a list I sent off to my SIN
members a WEEK before joining Motiv8, which would render their
sayings as bullshit, for some of their siteops were with us. The
siteops and my former members can reference this.

Subject : RTN Revolution Affiliation : Revolution Leader
RCN : Many people know that Revolution is a group that specializes in
foreign software, why does Revolution specialize in releasing only
foreign software? Is it because Revolution has no suppliers that
can release US software?
RTN : Well, Revolution is indeed a foreign release group and we do
specialize in Chinese/Japanese games. The reason I release these
games is because there are a lot of Chinese/Japanese people in the
scene that want such games. Since Im Chinese, I am also able to
enjoy quality Chinese/Japanese games. As for suppliers that can
release US software, I do have a few of them.
RCN : I am crazy about a Japanese cartoon show called Sailor Moon, and I
also heard that theres a Sailor Moon Game and Screen Saver for
the PC. If you find either the Sailor Moon Game or the Sailor
Moon Screen Saver, make sure you release it. Anyway, if
Revolution specializes in releasing only Chinese/Japanese
software, how come I just saw you guys release a US utility?
Perhaps that was a fake release?
RTN : No, that was not a fake release. Revolution does pull off some US
utilities faster than other groups because Revolution does have US
suppliers as I mentioned before. It is definitely not a fake
release, in fact, it was a 900 utility that I would never pay
that much for. As for the Sailor Moon PC Game and Screen Saver, I
am a big fan myself and recently purchased Sailor Moon Super Stars
for my Playstation.
RCN : Many people in the scene comment that releasing Chinese/Japanese
software is lame, and I even know some RiSC Rise in Superior
Couriering BBSes that nuke off foreign Chinese/Japanese software,
but do not nuke off software that come from other countries such
as France and Germany. Why do you feel that is the case?
RTN : Hahahahaha, youre funny :.
RCN : Thanks, but do answer the question.
RTN : People can say what they want, its their personal opinion and I
respect that. As for RiSC boards nuking foreign software, I dont
worry so much about. The releases still get out and even if
people didnt get it in time before they SysOps and SiteOps nuke
it, they can still come to me and ask for the releases. Ill be
more than happy to help them with that.
RCN : Have you ever encountered problems in the past where people would
just come up to you and say that Chinese/Japanese software is
lame, and that Revolution is lame for releasing them?
RTN : Ive had all these people come into channel RTN and just start
bitching at me. People come up to me telling me how lame I am and
how lame Revolution is as a whole, but I just tell them to mind
their own business. Even though they still keep bugging me,
theres really nothing I can do about it, and I dont want to
kick-ban anyone for such a stupid reason.
RCN : Not all Chinese/Japanese games require that you know how to read
in a foreign language. There are some action games that could be
in Hieroglyphics, and the fact that its in some weird language
does not effect the game play at all. When Revolution releases a
game, is there a way one can tell whether the game is purely
action, and thus does not require knowledge in a foreign language?
RTN : That information is given in the NFO of the release, but if the
release is for DOS/V or WIN/V, then the game is most likely in
either Chinese or Japanese. I have yet to come across any
Chinese/Japanese action games which does not require knowledge of
a foreign language. When releasing a game, we do try to keep that
in mind, and thus, we focus more on RPGs and AVGs. AVGs are also
known to most people as Pornos. I personally like the RPGs, but
an AVG is nice every once in a while.
RCN : What does DOS/V and WIN/V stand for?
RTN : DOS/V is DOS with Chinese/Japanese fonts. WIN/V is a background
program run in Windows 3.0+ which enables Chinese/Japanese fonts.
RCN : Does one need to have DOS/V and WIN/V in order to run a
Chinese/Japanese game?
RTN : Not always, most of the games are meant for DOS and will soon be
optimized for Windows 95.
RCN : There are only two groups I know of that specialize in
Chinese/Japanese software, Dragon and Revolution. Is there
animosity between the two groups since both groups compete in the
same type of releases?
RTN : First of all, there are many more groups that specialize in
Chinese/Japanese software that have yet to get around on the
Internet. I have nothing against Dragon and they have nothing
against me I think. I originally tried joining Dragon but I was
told they didnt want anymore suppliers. Members between the two
groups get along fairly well. I say that because I dont know
many Dragon members :.
RCN : Is there a possibility that Revolution will be releasing more and
more US software in the future? What do you see happening to
Revolution in the future?
RTN : Basically, I just want to share my Chinese/Japanese games with

Subject : CoRE Affiliation : CoRE Leader
RCN : How did CoRE start up? According to my sources, CoRE started out
when a merge between a few smaller courier groups took place, is
that true?
COR : Actually, CoRE was formed a few weeks ago when the two courier
groups Total Kaos and Violation decided to merge. The two groups
talked it over a bit and thought it would be better to work
together.
RCN : Why did Total Kaos and Violation decide to merge? When the did
the merge take place. Were all the members of Total Kaos and
Violation brought into CoRE? Were there any members that was cut
during the merging process?
COR : Total Kaos and Violation had similar members and similar
principles. Stank-E and I agreed that wed be better off together
than seperate. Almost all members from Violation came into CoRE
except for the President Venom and Senior Wildd. Venom and I
still have good relations because we are good friends. Wildd and
I get along fine and he is now heading up Sinful Traders. Some
members from Total Kaos were cut from the merge because they never
showed up. Cuts and things have been made to inactive members and
it seems we have a real working team now. I am quite happy.
RCN : Have there been any problems that resulted from the merge?
COR : From what I have seen, the merge has been perfect. We did not
have fights or anything during the merge because it was all very
well planned out.
RCN : It seems to me then that CoRE is a very organized group, Ive
noticed a bunch of people messaging me to go into channel
CoREFiles to offer, and they keep bugging me until I /ignore them
or actually join CoREFiles. Why did CoRE start up channel
CoREFiles, and why do your members keep bugging so many people to
offer in there? I just joined CoREFiles about 2 minutes ago only
to find out that there were 2 people idling in there.
COR : Thanks for letting me know, I will address this issue with the
rest of CoRE. CoREs internet coordinator, Palm, is in charge of
the affairs of channel CoREFiles. He is with Motiv8 and started
CoREFiles. When he is not in CoREFiles, the channel does not
run well. I feel if he wishes to keep the room up, he needs to
appoint a crew to work with. Also, bugging people to join isnt
right, people will join if they want to. I will address that
issue.
RCN : CoREs internet coordinator, Palm, is also a member of Motiv8, a
competitive courier group. Wouldnt he devote most of his time to
Motiv8s own offer channel, M8leech, and not to CoREFiles?
Isnt there a conflict of interest?
COR : I dont involve myself with his personal devotions. He works well
for both groups. If he feels he can keep up both, then hes
welcome to be in both. He is a great member and CoRE is glad to
have him. His interests really do not matter, M8leech is a much
bigger channel.
RCN : So I assume that all CoRE members are allowed to be in other
courier groups? What happens when a CoRE member gets an untagged
release, which courier group would he tag it for?
COR : CoRE members are allowed to be in other groups as long as they
fulfill their duties as a CoRE member. Tagging for our group goes
as follows, if he gets the file from one of our affiliated release
groups, I expect the release to be tagged by CoRE. If both groups
have the same release from the same affiliated group, this may
cause a problem. I figure, I could talk with the other courier
group about solving that. I am a pretty nice guy and have good
ideas, so I think we could work out something. But hopefully,
this situation wont happen often. I see most of my members
devoting most of their time to CoRE.
RCN : What makes CoRE different from other courier groups? Why would
someone want to devote their time to CoRE when they could devote
their time for another group such as GODS or RiSC? Why would
someone want to join CoRE? What makes CoRE stand out from the
dozens of other courier groups?
COR : I hope to think that we are beginning to make a name for
ourselves. I know that my members work very hard, and my whole
council works their asses off. One thing that makes CoRE
different is that I am not trying to rival any other group. This
sounds like major butt kissing, but both GODS and RiSC are well
respected groups. They do the same thing we do and I respect
that. We are all in the same boat here and it is pretty stupid to
be fighting. CoRE is for people who want to do their share of
work, talk to some people, have some fun and get stuff done at the
same time. This has worked so far, and I would like to emphasize
that the scene is *NOT* life and working in the scene is *NOT* a
real job.
RCN : Groups such as RiSC and GODS often provide their members with
cards and access to fast private FTP sites, is CoRE capable of
providing such things? If not, what does it provide for its
members?
COR : We are on quite a few private FTP sites that is able to please the
needs of CoRE members. If they want other things, they ask and
they may receive.
RCN : When Druggy was kicked out of Violation by the senior members, he
refused to leave. Why did he refuse to leave?
COR : I dont really know, I wasnt there, I didnt vote or anything. I
was there when they kicked him out and the senior members yelled
at me to vote but I refused.
RCN : Why did the senior members vote him out? Why did they even bring
up the issue of kicking him out of the group?
COR : They told me that he was too strict. They called Druggy The
Hitler of Warez, Upload or be Killed. I feel bad for Druggy. He
tries and tries hard. I wish him the best of luck in Cartel.

Subject : COPS Doing Shareware??? Affiliation : COPS Founder
RCN : Ive seen COPS Couriers of Pirated Software release both games
and utils here and there, why has COPS not taken the move to
specialize in one field of releasing, or has it already done so?
END : COPS now specializes in utils only.
RCN : Why have you decided to do so?
END : Well, I feel that if a group releases anything that it can get its
hands on, its really not a very professional group. But if you
release within a certain specialized area, such as utils, then it
makes the group seem more professional. Another advantage of
only releasing utils is that I will be able to trade games for
utils with other groups, which would help make for good relations
with the rest of the scene.
RCN : So COPS trades its games with other games groups? Has COPS
traded games for utils with other games groups yet?
END : Well COPS hasnt exactly traded ANY games yet with any groups, but
we plan on trading games with other groups in the future if we get
a hold of some hot game releases. I plan to trade games for utils
with groups such as ROR Release on Rampage and Napalm.
RCN : Just a few weeks ago, I saw that COPS released Blake Stone :
Aliens of Gold, the files dated back to 1993, about the same time
Wolfenstein was first released to the public, why would groups
such as ROR and Napalm want to trade their utils with games by
COPS which have a reputation of low quality? Anyhow, ROR has
already promised to trade its utils and games strictly with
Mortality and not with COPS?
END : Yes, I remember that release of Blake Stone : Aliens of Gold.
That was a BAD release and COPS apologizes for that, but we dont
intend to release anything like that in the future. It was a bad
call on my part. Well, if ROR has already made a decision on
trading utils for games only with Mortality, then thats fine. I
will find another group such as Napalm, and if COPS cant find any
other groups, then fATE Fast Action Trade Exchange will be our
next candidate.
RCN : Most Napalm suppliers are also in grousp such as DOD Drink or
Die and PWA Pirates with Attitudes, and thus have to supply for
those groups, so saying that Napalm will help supply utils for
COPS is definitely out of the question. On the note of fATE, why
would you trade releases with fATE? fATE is a courier group, is
it not?
END : Like I said, I will find some other groups to trade releases with
after consulting with my council. Those just happened to be the 2
groups that I could name off the top of my head. fATE is official
couriers for COPS, and fATE does have a releasing section.
RCN : What are some of COPS best releases in the recent weeks?
END : COPS has released great software such as Visual Object COBOL for
Windows 95/NT Beta 3 and WebManager for Win95 Beta v.1.1.3.
RCN : Why are those releases all beta, would it be that COPS has
suppliers that work for those companies?
END : You can say that.
RCN : As an editor of RCN, I try to keep an unbiased opinion toward
groups. However, wherever I go, it seems to me that there is a
general consensus among to scene to look upon COPS as a really
lame group. The scene accuses COPS of releasing nothing but
dupes and shareware, why do you think that is so?
END : Haha, well, as I learned from the latest issue of RCN and I whole
heartedly agree, is that if you call someone lame, that person
who call people lame is the person that is really lame. But, to
tell you the truth, we have only released 1 dupe and we have yet
to anything that can be considered shareware. I dont know where
they would get the idea that we release in those two categories,
because every group has their share of dupes but COPS has had
only 1, and the scene should give us credit on that.
RCN : So youre saying that COPS has never released any shareware or
freeware, and that COPS has only duped once in its entire
existence?
END : Yes, COPS has only duped once, and COPS has never released
shareware or freeware.
RCN : Do you lie often? Anyway, COPS is very fortunate to have fATE as
its official couriers, how did you acquire such a good standing
and respectable courier group to become officials with COPS?
END : Well, MALiCE used to be official couriers for COPS, but then
MALiCE kicked COPS out, but before that happened, Doobie from fATE
was in close contact with me, and when MALiCE kicked COPS out, I
jumped on the chance to get fATE in as COPS official couriers.
fATE has been doing a lot more than some of the courier groups
around, especially MALiCE, which I think is DEAD now.
RCN : Why did MALiCE kick COPS out as official couriers?
END : The reason MALiCE kicked out COPS was because the council members
in MALiCE were REALLY poor with their members. There were fights
within the group all the time. I had repeatedly asked them to
support the COPS FTP sites, they merely ignored me. I got sick of
MALiCE and the MALiCE members got sick of the council and left.
RCN : What do you see for the future of COPS? Do you see it becoming
one of the strong utils groups in the future? Theres a quote
found in the COPS NFO, which goes as follows Keep an eye on us,
cuz we are coming very strong, VERY strong, and we are ready to
tear it up and take all. Do you believe that COPS is indeed
becoming very strong, VERY strong?
END : Yes, I think so. I think that COPS will become VERY strong. It
may take a couple of years, but I think that sooner or later, we
will be as good as groups such as DOD and PWA.
RCN : Dont you think that aspiring to be as good as DOD and PWA might
be impossible for a group such as COPS? After all, most people in
the scene are very stubborn, and most already have their heart set
to believing that COPS is very lame and only releases freeware and
shareware even when that might not be the case. Perhaps, it would
be easier for you to just kill COPS, and start a totally new
group?
END : Hehe, like how you did to Legacy? I doubt it. Maybe it will be
impossible, but I am sure that we will have some impact on the
scene. When people COPS releases in the future, I am sure they
will come to change their minds. But then again, you never know
what will happen in the future.
RCN : Yes, that is true, but history does repeat itself. Anyway,
according to my sources, you also ran an e-mag called Horizons,
what happened to it?
END : Yes, we were, but a lot of our Horizon writers werent committed
enough and soon, the group died off. I see no reason to publish
an e-mag if RCN is in the scene. I think that you guys are the
best and that there should be no other e-mag.
RCN : I must admire your tenacity in running COPS, if I were running
COPS, I would have killed it off long ago, but you seem to be a
hard worker, whats your secret?
END : COPS may not be the best group around, but we are sure as hell
trying to contribute whatever we can to the scene. And even
though we may not have the best people in our group, or known
people, there are a lot of new prospective members out their that
are willing to commit time and energy into a group, even if that
group may not be as good as DOD or PWA. When you come into our
IRC channel C.O.P.S., you would hardly recognize anyone there.
Thats because these members are the NEW batch of people coming
into the scene.

to GODS, and their relationship with other courier groups such as RiSC
and Damage. GODS later comes up with the suggestion to steal some of
RiSCs fastest sites and boards, but will GODS succeed?

Quazimodm Ahem. First of all, on behalf of the GODS staff, I want to
welcome all of you to the revival of the Guild of
Distributors.
TClaw Oh yeah, before we start, who is logging?
Quazimodm It is hard to believe that after being away from the scene
from what seems like ages, and after popping in my head
every once in a while to see how the scene is doing, Id see
how things have changed. I type fast dont I? I see some
new, and some old and familiar faces. Its comforting to be
acknowledged after putting a lot of effort and sacrifice
phonebills, phreaking, etc. into the scene a couple years
ago. Anyway, a bit of history, I was not one of the
founders of GODS at least technically Im not. I was
running Quantum Traders. I was approached by the leaders of
a number of couriering groups at the time looking to merge.
It wasnt until I had a meeting with SliceDice where I
found out that a lot of how the two of us ran things were a
bit of the same. Quantum Traders merged with GODS in 1994
and became of one of best and most recognized couriering
groups in the scene! One of the things I want to clarify
here is the foundation and philosophy of GODS. The
leaders, SliceDice and I, believed in what all couriering
groups believe and strive for, and thats being the fastest
in trading warez to all the boards, sites, etc. Our goal
was to put GODS on the map, that simple. But we wanted to
accomplish that by compiling the BEST, cream of the crop
traders and couriers that we could find, because we have
equaled the need to have QUALITY couriers and SPEED in
trading. Last week, one of our old traders who has been
very active in the scene, David Goliath, found me on IRC
and approached me about the revival of GODS. Having been so
out of the scene, he had recapped me on the progress which
he, as well as some others, has taken upon themselves to
bring back the Divine Power, the revival of GODS. I want
to commend David Goliath for having the desire and
persistency to make this all happen. Finally, before
handing this over to David Goliath or Lester, I want you
all to remember what GODS stood for. Consider yourselves a
part of history being in one of the best couriering groups
in the scene. No, GODS isnt OMNIPOTENT or OMNIPRESENT,
yet! But we will if we all pull together and strive to make
GODS 1996 rip the fucking scene up!! :

DAVnGOL I think the main thing this group needs to do is to work work
well together, to stop fighting, and to have a peaceful
atmosphere. We are not forming this group to make RiSC, and
other groups look bad. We are doing it, to be 1 and that is
our purpose. We dont want to fight with RiSC or Everlast, or
to have competitions, but we do want to go out there and rock
the scene, i.e., rock the FTP sites and rock the boards. In
doing this, we want to make sure, that our own FTP sites and
boards remain very fast. It is our job to support them. We
have a great council, a great senior staff, and some great
coordinators. These are all people who have proved themselves
in the past. On paper, we have one of the most dangerous
teams. Now, we will just have to put it together, and
actually show everyone how good we really are. Some people
have come to me and Lester saying, Hey, this senior staff is
too big, and it will be lame. Well, what I have learned
while being in the scene is that you cannot judge a book by
its cover. Sure, there have been lame groups with large
staffs, but there have also been succesfull groups like PWA
for example. There are so many leaders/seniors/and staff
members in PWA, and yet we all work great together most of the
time. So I think, that we need to pull our resources
together, get out there, and kick some ass. And we should
guess, we should just do it and not think that people will
think we are lame. If we go out there, and upload more than
anyone else, trust me, we will be anything but lame. We have
some kick ass FTP sites, some kick ass boards, and great
coordinators.
Lester Well, I just want to point out who will be doing what more or
less, and what boards and FTP sites we have. First off, the
boards are WHQ Malevolence, US HQ Carnel Infatuation,
Courier HQ Elusive Dreams. The other HQs are still open at
this time. FTP sites are easy enough, the WHQ Air Castle, US
HQ BBX, Euro HQ CRC, Poobis, Bootknockers, Hackrats, Subs
Site, Count Zeros site. Now, for you Internet traders. The
essential Internet coordinator will be MGD with Frost
supporting him. Gahn and Cryptic Pain along with Xwing
helping, will watch over the board traders. If you need
anything, you can first goto them or you can come to any one of
us and well solve your problems.

with people dual grouping and I cannot make up my mind.
If one is to leave the group than that person is not allowed
to return to GODS. If you say on the channel, Im fucking
pissed and I quit, and it is decided you quit, then you
quit. If you cannot hold your temper or get along and
maintain consistancy, the group cannot benefit from this.
If you want to join another group cause they can give you
CCs or whatever benefits, then go ahead. But please dont
expect a welcome back. I cannot think of one reason why you
would be allowed back. So excuses wont benefit you. So I

from getting the releases before GODS, because they are

SMobius ALL Internet couriers will get accounts on all our sites with
leech anyone inside GODS, we already trust, so we know you
wont excessively leech. That rule may be changed to ratio.
But remember, if you want to upload, you have to have some
place to leech thats why.

not putting them on Aircastle to slow down the speed.

reason, just remember that. We didnt pick you up from the

On the evening of June 13, 1996, Rebel Chicken, Hitex, and Xenon
were all busted in front of Rebel Chickens residence. After attempting
to execute an event that they had planned for over a week, their scheme
went terribly wrong, and all hell seemed to have broken loose.
Moreover, the entire backbone of RCN was now in jeapordy.
Rebel Chicken was about to graduate. He had a mere 4 hours of
school left before he could officially be labeled a freshman in college.
Girls were no longer on his mind, he had already given up on that. Now,
he was merely interested in conducting an event known as The Senior
Prank. A senior prank is a collecting of a few seniors to coordinate
some sort of destructive activity on the school as a way of thanking the
administration for the caring and enlightening experience the students
were put through for 4 years, known as High School. The plan was to
leave Rebel Chickens house at 3:00 am, walk down the hill to Rebels
school, and replace the United States flag with a Communist Russian
flag. This task would be performed by Rebel Chicken and his friend,
whom well call John while Xenon and Hitex were frantically cementing
toothpicks into the locks of the school as to inhibit entrance into the
classrooms the next day.
The four of us departed, and we were now on a mission. Our first
obstacle was now met - there was a 24-hour security guard appointed to
protect the school. He spotted us, but we kept walking as to avoid
contact with him. We rounded the corner and made our way back into
Rebels country club. We walked around for about 30 minutes, spotting
the guard every once in a while. Then, something caught our eyes. The
guard appeared to be making a shift switch with another guard. We
watched attentively until finally we noticed them assume their old
positions. So we were wrong.
By now, it was nearing 4:00 am, and we were about to make our second
attempt at entrance into the school campus. Just as we cut the corner,
the lights of a police car shone in our faces. We looked at the car,
then at each other, and it seemed that symbiotically, we all thought
alike, and as quickly as we came, we dashed away, 4 bullets fleeing.
Through the brush, over the bushes, under the trees, we ran, until
finally we made our way to the street. Xenon, Rebel Chicken, and I,
were all clean except for the glue and toothpicks present in the
pockets of Xenon and myself. John, however, held the main weapon, the
communist flag. Its not every day that one sees a guy running around
with such a flag in this country, especially not at 4 in the morning, so
we assumed the police would find this a bit suspicious. As a result, we
all, in our scurry, decided that it would be to our benefit to keep the
cops from finding John. We made our way to the street and when finally
in pure visibility to the cops chasing behind us, the two cops
simultaneously yelled OFFICER, STOP! We knew what we had to do.
Rebel, Xenon, and I all stopped while John kept running. This, of
course, would create a big enough diversion for the policemen so that
John would manage to get away while we would get interrogated.
So we stood there, a threesome, flashlights pointed at our faces,
and two officers, huffing and puffing from the run, in front of us.
So, what was all that about? questioned an officer. We paused, waited
for one of us to expel an answer, as Rebel Chicken heroically stated
Um, were just hangin out! At 4 in the morning? continued an
officer. Sure ehem Why not? our Chicken replied. Well, do you
know that guy that got away? Who, that guy? Oh, pshaww, ehem, of
course we dont!! Hehehehehehe, we all replied. Unbelieving, the
officers found nothing to disprove our telling. We explained that all 3
of us were just hanging out when we saw a guy with a big stick so we
curiously decided to chase him. So the officers took our names down, of
which we gave them fake ones, and the officers then decided that it
would be in their best interest to walk us home.
So we proceeded up the hill to Rebels house. We walked in, and the
officers requested to speak with Rebels mom. Uh oh. We tried to talk
our way out of getting her down but the officers persisted.
We got her down, and, well, I thought for a moment an atom bomb had
fallen on our roof. Lets just say it wasnt a pretty site.
Ultimately, we ended up being lectured for another hour by a frantic
mother, but we ended up okay. What makes me mad, though, is that three
guys in the scene, who should all know the law fairly well, could not
figure out that these officers didnt see us commit any crime, and
surely we could have said There are no grounds by which you can request
that I call my mother out of bed at this time. But we didnt think of
it, and though it could have saved us much yelling, it was too late.
So we got off easy, some of us, such as Dr. Jekyll, are not always
so lucky. But if this story should be a statement to any of us, it
should be one to show us that a cop is a very gullible species, and your
story is true until proven otherwise. So just because you might not
think that three half-sane guys would ever, bare-handedly, chase a guy
with a big stick, doesnt mean a cop wouldnt believe it.

Subject : GODS Couriering
Early this week a new courier group was introduced into the broad
spectrum that already existed. It began a bit low-key, not much was
said about them, but apparently not much needed to be said, as they have
already made their way up the ranks. In under a week, we have a group
that is competitive for the 1 courier group spot. So, how did it
happen?
Despite common knowledge, GODS Guild of Distributors was around
about two years ago and was quite a large courier group, posing great
competition for the legendary RiSC. Recently, RiSC has faced major
competition from a group called Everlast, but because Everlasts main
goal was not to beat RiSC, it isnt making too much of a presence for
itself. GODS, however, seems to be approaching this game with a
different attitude. Though not set out to kill RiSC, GODS is here to
pose some major competition for it, once again. Will it succeed? Well,
that question has already been partially answered.
The initial reformation of GODS just one week ago was a result of
the Digital DGT downfall, and Amnesia AMN merging. The best of the
best from Digital were recruited into GODS, as well as the Amnesia team,
and then a few random couriers that have certainly proven themselves in
the scene. So to date, GODS is not official couriers for anybody, but
that has definitely not hindered them from tagging nearly 50 of the
warez out there. A recent look at Park Central, the RiSC World
Headquarters, and Malevolence, the GODS World Headquarters, vividly
shows the GODS presence in tagging and its omnipresence in the scene.
So though GODS is not yet officially couriering for anybody, it has more
than shown us how well it will be able to support the groups it does
courier for.
So you want to contact GODS? Well GODS is currently an invite only
group, of course with the exception of those rare couriers that for some
reason were not invited but have more than enough to get in. So dont
bother applying. However, if you would like to get your name out to
some of the GODS staff, GUILD on the IRC network will be the place to
go. GUILD is the GODS public channel where they will conduct every-day
conversations. GODS, however, does reserve a private channel in which
they conduct meetings and really get down to business. This is just one
example of the organization that this group proves to contain. Many
courier groups were presented to us this year, and most wanted to become
1, but the main problem that stopped them from achieving this goal was
a lack of organization. So far, this does not appear to be a problem
for GODS.
A year ago, my area code was extremely active in the scene, and
though we lacked any REALLY BIG boards, we had plenty of the small ones
and all releases made their way over sooner or later most often later.
During the year, as with all area codes, the BBSs in the area began to
quit, and we are now left with no more than 5 boards in the whole area.
We are, however, blessed to have one board that is being supported by
GODS in the area. The Lower Level, with its 8 nodes, has greatly picked
up activity this week, and it is amazing to see the motivation that this
group has brought to its members. Now, The Lower Level could easily be
compared in speed to many of the much bigger and more well-known boards
in the world.
Yet as we know, the challenge is not in beating the other groups on
your own boards, but rather, beating them on their own boards! This is
surely the sign of superiority. RiSC got a total of 652 megs of uploads
to their WHQ, Park Central. However, GODS was close behind with 440
megs. 200 Megs behind and on their first week. Thats pretty
impressive!
GODS has definitely shown their might this past week, and I have no
doubt in my mind that they will continue doing so in the weeks that
follow. Whether or not they will beat out RiSC or Everlast in the
long-term plans is a question we will all have, so we will all be
waiting to see the top uploaders stats this week and next with new
excitement. Good luck, GODS, and eat your Wheaties, youre up with the

was happening in GODS private channel. We didnt know what, we didnt

its leadership be able to survive it? Its hard to say. We just
witnessed the departure of a senior member and a member from the group.

flame within him was already lit earlier in the week and this was just
the kicker? Slain, Just a trader, left, but could this be an
indication to the future of the rest of the traders in the group? Only

who busted Demaxxus later to release him on the basis of a lack of
evidence. This is a log, supplied by Lucifers Fear, of a chat between
Carnage and himself. They all live around each other, and, well, these
seem to be some of the smartest and bravest guys Ive seen. They know
the law. They know it well. The RCMP is going to have to be a lot

Subject : Syncronys Softcorp Pulling a Napalm?
Memory prices have finally started dropping, and its about time.
While other PC components have gotten cheaper eacy year, RAM prices have
simply bounced around between 30 and 50 per megabytes for a few years
now, sometimes even going higher when demand for the chips was
particularly strong. How does this effect the people in the scene?
More and more games and utils released in the past few months require a
computer with at least 16 megabytes of RAM. As computer technology
progresses, the RAM requirements for software should increase as well.
Part of the deal is that RAM chips use exotic technologies, and
manufacturers have to make huge quantities of a design to turn a profit,
so the six or seven major producers in the world havent had to worry
much about competition from price-slashing upstarts. Most RAM chips are
also made by non-U.S. companies operating outside of the reach American
antitrust laws, and thus, help lower prices of RAM chips.
And so the baseline spec for RAM keeps climbing, from 2 to 4 to 8
megabytes over the past few years, and now 16 megabytes seems meremly
adequate for a new PC. It would be nice if we could trick programs into
thinking that our PCs had more RAM available, and thats the basic idea
behind virtual memory, a technique for swapping data that isnt needed
right away into a temporary file on the hard disk. Virtual memory has
been part of Microsoft Windows version 3.0, and the system has always
worked well enough, though naturally it only works for programs running
under Windows.
The biggest drawback to virtual memory is its speed. Lots of
swapping slows a PC to a crawl, since hard disk drives are hundreds of
times slower than RAM. Utilities like Connectix Corporations RAM
Doubler, Quarterdecks MagnaRAM, and Syncronys Softcorps SoftRAM use a
different approach to expand RAM without the speed penalty of virtual
memory, by using data compression. The idea of data compression should
be familiar by now, since its behind about a dozen other technologies,
including full-motion video, modems, and file compression utilities like
PKZIP. RAM compression utilities claim to fit more data in memory by
compression program instructions and data whenever they arent actually
being used.
They all work within Windows memory management system, so again none
of these programs will help MS-DOS games. That could be a great problem
since most of games released are still optimized for MS-DOS. And none
of them is really a substitute for more actual RAM chips, but they can
produce real-world improvements in some circumstances - all of them
except one, it seems. Experienced crackers whom Im affiliated with
have disassembled the code in SoftRAM and claim that the utility
couldnt work as advertised that theres nothing in SoftRAM that even
vaguely resembles data compression code.
Syncronys Softcorp has fooled the market and the scene by selling
possibly millions of copies of a program that doesnt even work. Its
one thing to see Napalm release a game that doesnt work, or to see DOD
release a util without a serial number, but its totally outrageous to
see a company release a 99 program that doesnt do anything. To say
that it doesnt work and couldnt possibly work is a serious accusation,
and being suspicious by nature, I tried a simple test. After installing
SoftRAM courtesy of PWA on my laptop PC, an older 386 with 4megabytes
of RAM, Windows initially reported that I had an extra 4megabytes of
space available. But when I tried to repeatedly paste a 20,000-line
chunk of text file that I was editing, I actually ran out of memory
sooner with SoftRAM running than without. Since compression programs
like PIKZIP can shrink text to less than a third of its original size,
SoftRAM should have really shown its colors in this test, but I saw no
signs that it worked at all.
But heres the part of the story that I find most amazing, I called
Syncronys to inform them of my little test, and they told me that a
research conducted by Dataquest found that 82 of SoftRAM users
experienced increase in computer speed. I hung up and I concluded that
SoftRAM is nothing more than placebo software, and that seems fitting
enough for a program that reports itself to be working while not
actually doing anything. If nothing else, placebo software would be a
good justification of why piraters should not buy software.
You might recall that disk compression utilities like Stacker and
DoubleSpace were very popular 3 or 4 years ago. But hard disk prices
have fallen through the floor and those utilities are just niche
products now, stopgaps that you might want to download or buy until your
next new system upgrade or disk upgrade. With the way that RAM prices
are dropping, RAM doubling software could meet the same fate as disk
compressors. Theres really no substitute for actual physical memory,
and if RAM prices are low enough, theres no good reason to settle for a
crappy download, and theres definitely no reason to shell out 99 for
placebo software.

Subject : Broken Releases By...
On June 7, 1996, I downloaded a Prestige release called Big Hurt
Baseball. I downloaded all 36 disks. The first file and the ninth file
ended up having corrupted ZIPs. So I went to another site and
redownloaded the two disks. So the first file was now fixed, but the
ninth was still damaged. Finally, I went to yet another site, and
ultimately all files worked. I decided to try and run the game.
Quickly, I found that the pitcher would never pitch. It was as if the
computer player was brain-dead. So after all the time I spent on
acquiring the game, it was worthless. I read the PSG.NFO. The person
who released it said he did the release in a rush. He was going on
vacation and just released it. I was on an FTP site and noticed a crack
released by Prestige. I decided to download the crack. I ran it, and
the pitcher still didnt work.
Its little things like this that hurt the scene. A lot of people
are not as good with computers as me. It would have probably taken the
far longer than it took me to figure out that it was a broken release.
It is thus of extreme importance that every group test its releases
before releasing them. A lot of the stuff that is going around is junk.
It doesnt work. Why should couriers have to spend valuable time
couriering software that doesnt even work? People often complain to
the couriers saying they should test the software before they upload it
to a major board, but we must look at it from their perspective as well.
Couriers want to get on the top uploader lists, but if they have to
censor what they can upload, it is inevitable that their competition
will just upload the file instead, and they will lose out. What CAN be
blamed on the couriers is the broken ZIP files. A courier has the
responsibility of transfering the files he gets in the exact form that
he gets them, and it is always his responsibility to test all the
archives he gets to make sure that all the transfers came through
properly.
A while ago Napalm released a game by the name of A10-Tank Killer.
I downloaded it, and, interested in actually playing it, I joined
Napalm requesting keyboard controls for it, as they were not included
in the packaging of the game. I also announced to them that I was
interested in supplying for their group. They agreed and warned me that
I have to supply at least one release per month. I agreed on the
condition that they give me a text file containing the keyboard controls
to their release. The game was one about a bomber plane, and I didnt
know how to drop the bombs. We conversed for a while, and ultimately
after much rudeness on their part, they came to the conclusion that I
was not going to get the text file because I put a condition on it that
I would only supply if they gave it to me. I soon found myself
kick-banned. This is something I always disliked about Napalm, but I
wonder why they would dislike me for it. It seems sometimes that to get
a Napalm release to fully work, even if it was properly cracked, you
actually have to buy the game!
I ended up contacting Sierra, they informed me that to drop bombs,
you press enter when you have a target in sight. As far as Prestige
goes, I would like to congratulate them, as that is their only release
that didnt pitch. These are all the cold facts of the scene today.
Groups need to pay more attention to what they do, be it courier
properly, or release completely. A courier needs to take responsibility
for his job and his job only, but a releaser needs to make sure that the
end user gets not only a properly working game, but one that he will
know how to use.

Subject : Choosing a Nickname
Join any IRC channel today and youre bound to find some of the
weirdest nicknames around. Lets take RCN for an example. Today, I
joined RCN and saw the following striking names : Endokuken, Spy of
Quartex, Rebel Chicken, and a few more. Endokuken? Now tell me, where
in the hell does a guy come up with a name like that? Maybe it means
something in another language that Im not familiar with, but it seems
pretty random to me. Is that bad? Of course not! In fact, Endokuken
is Hitexs favorite nickname. Whenever he sees the guy around, he cant
help but yell ENDOKUKEN ENOKUKEN ENDOKUKEN!! Spy of Quartex? Maybe he
got it out of a movie? Rebel Chicken? No comment.
So, when youre out choosing a name, for any reason -- maybe youre
new to the scene, maybe you did something bad and hope that if you
change your name, nobody will recognize you -- either way, you should
take the following steps first.
1. Think about your interests. You dont want to pick the name
Rebel Chicken if youre a vegetarian, for example.
2. Look through the science book, or any other book that could
contain weird cool words in it. The dictionary often works,
too, but be forewarned, CHECK THE DEFINITION. Research books
tend to have words that sound cool but ones that you wouldnt
exactly want to be represented by.
3. Combine words that have to do with your life. But again, be
forewarned. This step majorly depends on who you are and how
you want to portray yourself. For example, if our Rebel Chicken
were to go by this step, he would probably have chosen a name
like Never Touched a Girl, but he thought it wiser to portray
himself as a chicken gone bad.
I decided to venture out and interview a few people about how and
why they chose their nicks. The following are the interviews :
RCN How did you think of your nickname?
Oxygen It just sort of popped in my head. My nick sounds better then
Hydroboy or Atomman.
RCN What do you mean popped in your head? Do you, by nature,
constantly think of Oxygen???
Oxygen Well, to be honest, I thought of it like this. A name has to
mean something. I was new to the scene and prefered not to have some
lame nickname. So I thought of one thing we all cant live without.

RoadRebel A friend gave it to me 16 years ago.

RoadRebel Hmmm no, make it like 12 years ago, it was because of a car
I drove called a rebel, and people thought it was a road runner, thus
Road Rebel.

RoadRebel Yes, I had a 67 rebel and my sister had a 68.

RoadRebel It was a car made in the 60s called a rebel, I wish I still
owned it now.

KoKiS Im from a conuntry where cocaine is a cheap thing and when I
moved over to Sweden a friend of mine called me KokainSmuglaren. His
girlfriend and I got to be friends and she started to call me KoKiS. To
this day, they still call me KokainSmuglaren. So KoKiS is short for
that. There was a thing about it just as I got the nickname. The
newspapers had articles about the rise in cocaine abuse and at the same
time, the rise in warez.

Hello, and welcome to Reality Check Networks all new group review!
Here I will be reviewing the 5 best utils release groups in the scene.
Well, actually, *I* wont be the one reviewing them, *THEY* will be!
Its all up to the groups, this is where quantity DOES count, but you
will soon enough find that quality by far outweighs quantity. Lets
review the criteria Ill be using for judging releases. The following
is the scoring basis Ill be using :
Points :
-3 The util didnt work and a crack/fix was not released within 72
hours. The group may regain the 3 lost points by releasing a crack
or fix, even beyond the 3 day period.
1 The util was a dupe or freeware,
2 Unsatisfactory,
3 Average,
4 Above Average, and
5 Excellent!
A group may lose points the following week and have their releases
labeled as broken thus receiving the proper amout of points. If the
group has released a fix between the two issues, well give them credit
accordingly. If a group releases a fix within a 3 day period, the
util will be rated as if it worked in the first place, thus getting the
3 points it lost back and any points it would have earned. If a group
releases a fix after the 3 day period has expired, it will receive its 3
points back, but get no more. Betas may receive no more than 3 points.

Back to Baghdad c Military Sim. 23/23
This game was the biggest bitch ever to install, not because it was
complic- ated or anything, but because it took fucking forever. First
you unarj it, and theres about 1000 small .bmp files which make the arj
take like around 15 minutes, then you have to edit the .cfg and .bat
files, and the bat files have like a million lines referring to the dir.
Then you go to load the game up, and it takes about 10 minutes for it to
load the terrain and stuff. And after that it just continues to swirl
my hd around in circles as it loads and loads. It just kept loading, I
went and took a shower, a nap, dinner, etc, while it was loading. Then
I came back to find it had stopped loading but had locked up. I was
able to see the game just not play it from one of the points of
loading up. My rating on this game is just a total guess since I was
not able to play it. If you even plan to take a shot at this, Id
HIGHLY suggest you have at least a pent/133, or youll wait forever.

This is the win32 version 0o0o. Its still the same fly the
airplane through the house, avoid some obstacles, and blah blah, as it
was before. You just have to guide the airplane through the house and
manuever it without hitting any book shelves, other airplanes, bouncing
balls, etc. There are air currents which keep your plane up or down
and you need to fly from one to the other. Not too amusing, in fact
quite boring.

the sound is quite annoying, and the graphics a reminder of the atari.

Its from AtOnce software, so it is real. I tried to open a level and
then a new game but it kept me with the same white screen. No clue what
the fuck this is.

Ummm this one wont load without the cd. Subst as told to do
wont work, and fakecd wont work. It just doesnt work. Also, I found
this kinda weird that there was an .html for a page in this release, and
that it said this : A HREFhttp://www.primussucks.com/. Now if you
ask me, I wouldnt think its such great idea for you to put a link to
something that says your game sucks in the package with your game.
Also, a 50 something disk movie pack was released for this nonworking
game.

Theres a 41 disk release, but Im missing a small piece.
Theres a beta just a waitin, for me to do the testin.
I downloaded 40 disks and realized theres one I missed....
DISK 24 WHERE ARE YOU!?!?.
But then after searching far and wide, actually it took about 2
mins I was able to find the missing disk 24. After I spanked 24, I
unzipped it and well, heres the review: This is the beta version of
this MK like game. The previous release was just a playable preview.
This one still is a little buggy, but Demolition released a patch to fix
some things. Its got a lot of cool things, and the graphics are good.
But the movement of the characters just has something about it that
makes you just not like it. Also youll need a pent/100+ to play this
at a decent speed. Pray for Death isnt going to be the next great
fighting game, but it might entertain a select few. If you do make the
effort to get it, might as well get the patch to, it lets you play
certain modes, and also lets you see the characters stats and stuff,
even though there is no animation of them.

has to be played over it. Well that seems the only way to work this
thing. There is no non-modem way of using it. It only gives one
.exe, and it tries to connect to someplace and there is no way to edit
what it connects to.

I tried to install it on to my sisters computer, but when I tried
to run the game, it bitched about my display driver not being win95
compatible. Which is pretty funny, since Im in win95. Just another
way in which win95 is a major piece of crap.

CATFIGHT c Atlantean Interactive 20/20
Look out! PMS at its peak! Its Mortal Kombat style fighting, but
this time, the women outnumber the men 10-0. Its a very good game, if
you got the power to back it up. First off, dont even try to run it in
win3.1, unless you got a p/166 and a shitload of ram. Because if you
do, youll be playing it in a window about the size of your pinky nail.
Ok music and sound effects, but much better graphics. You have a nice
choice of women with great bods to show off especially the bottom right
one. There are 6 move you have, each character with its own moves.
Its worth getting if you have a really fast computer, otherwise dont
bother. Perfect gift for fathers day!

Hahah, this is funny. Its pacman, but its got like false teeth
chomping instead of pacman. Not much else to say, we all know what the
fuck pacman is, and if you dont then you dont deserve to be alive.
Only difference is youre chased by cavity type things, and the boards
are a little weirder and harder. This is SW, but I think it includes
all the levels.

Here is the dos version of this acclaimed flight simulator. It was
acclaimed as being a flight sim G. Welp once again, another one of
those sim games with no docs, no key setup, and no way of getting the
fucking plane off the ground. I slammed every key, I slammed every
fucking possible combination of keys, and the fucking plane didnt move
an inch. Sure, I can view it from fifty thousand angles, but I cant
make it move! Anyway, it looked like a pretty basic and plain
simulator. The usual bland colors of lineish gfx. Not too great, some
docs would be helpfull.

Hoyle Solitaire c Sierra Online 7/7
A collection of 28 different styles of solitaire, that all seem just
like the original! A must have for all you soli-teers and people who
like to do things by themselves for long periods of time. This
win/win95 solitaire is sure to bore you out of your mind really quickly!
The card flipping noise, the only sound in the entire game I think, is
quite annoying. Anyway, if for some reason you think youd be cool to
have 28 different solitaire games on your computer then by all means get
this.

Rebel Runner *FiNAL* o6/o6
This is a terribly designed platform game. Although they claim this
is the final, it still sucks bug wise. The music/sfx play for like 5
seconds and then it just dies. The game is horrible, its too easy to
die, and its just really lame. Dont bother with this one. Oh, and
its not mentioned in the nfo, but this needs to be installed to C:
drive or it wont work.

a cross between Dear Abby and Dave Berry. The most important part of
this is YOUR participation. If you have ever had a question about the

This week I got shitty letters for Dear RR. So, instead of
responding to crap, I will just write my own opinions. As most of you
know, I like to share my opinions freely with the whole IRC. Okay, last
weeks topic was Gays on IRC. I have seen SOOO many fights about this
shit in RCN and other channels that its become a joke. It isnt like
a fag is looking at your ass on IRC, they cant see you, they cant
touch you, they cant suck you off although Im sure some of you
wouldnt mind.
So do some big people get so pissed!? Could it be that they are
jealous and just crave a big hairy stinky butt to poke? Or they are
actually penis puffers themselves in the closet? Are they fighting back
so hard so that people wont think theyre gay? While some of this may
be true and picking on the fag channels is fun the need to argue about
this in a channel that has nothing to do with it is a joke. It seems to
me that the Pillow Biters stay in their own channels, and dont bother
ANYONE but themselves. This segregation seems to work nicely.
I guess the point is, if you dont like them leave them alone. Its
a lot like bees, if you dont fuck with them, they wont try to sting
ya! And to those that are hiding their feelings behind a guise of
Machoism and playing the IRC tough guy, well, 2 people came out in the
last issue of RCN. I cant name names but, their initials are GK and
PN, they are free now, and have no problems with their sexuality.

audience of users on the Internet. They use the most efficient and
fastest methods possible.
The user was seen on IRC at exactly: Sun Apr 28 02:04:41 1996 EDT.
In an effort to stop software piracy on the Internet, I have been
monitoring various groups of users on the Internet Relay Chat network.
This medium of communication has become very popular with warez
pirates who exchange commercial software illegally. On the IRC network,
groups of people come together to use sophisticated methods to
distribute commercial software to literally thousands of users. With
such large scale distribution methods, the software industry is losing
millions of dollars.
I have no direct evidence to show you that this user is
participating in illegal activities. But I can direct you to where
evidence can be found. If you are permitted to do so, I suggest that
you take a brief scan of the users home-directory and check for any
suspicious files. If you cannot do this, I recommend that you keep a
close eye on this user and watch for any unusual activities. Please
take whatever action is appropriate in dealing with these matters as
stated in your organizations Internet Policy Agreement or Network
Etiquette Policy.

I believe this user, Chris Carter, is violating numerous laws, to
include guidelines set forth by the Electronic Frontier Foundation
EFF. His means of monitoring are clearly illegal in the United
States. He is known to use hacked accounts, send false mail, hide his
address, monitor channels in IRC through stealth modes - his presence
not visible to users of the channels. He is also making great
accusations with no evidence causing undue harassment and libel. Undue
conflict between user and administrator and possibly resulting in the
loss of accounts, if not involvement by state/local/federal authorities.
Chris Carters tactics seem to be strategic and premeditative in nature,
a direct attack on the reputation of whomever he chooses to harass.
It is encouraged that the unethical and unlawful behavior of Chris
Carter be stopped, to protect privacy, freedom of speech, reputations of
the innocent and prevent him from abusing any other computer systems
through subversive and/or illegal hacking methods.
Chris Carter certainly gets around. Upon mention of his name, many
people have spoken out in outrage at his actions and methods. This
e-mail is a collective result of concerned citizens in both the United
States and abroad. To my knowledge, there are seven other instances of
such accusations sent via e-mail with no support.
Upon contact, a system administrator from the first provider has
stated that they have checked the files of the user in question,
permissible by a written legal form signed by the account purchaser, and
have not found a single thing of illegal nature. Why is this violation
of privacy necessary due to the likes of Mr. Carter, who does not seem
to respect the rights of innocent people? One must wonder whether
Carters basis for these accusing messages has anything to do with the
reason of software piracy as Carter states. If so, his observations
are error-prone.
The second provider involved has not commented.
Thank you for your time and, hopefully, support. Chris Carter is a
criminal by any standards and must be dealt with by legal means before
spreading more harm among the Internet community.

So I thought last weeks Chicken-Watch would be the last. I had
finally decided it was truly 100 hopeless this time. Well, I was
right. So I was going through my hard drive last night deleting all the
crap I didnt need any more when I made my way to the Telemate Edit
directory. For those of you that dont know, Telemate is a
communications program that has a built-in notepad like thing so you can
jot down notes to yourself while online. Very useful when you have 30
people messaging you and you dont know whos who so you write down
notes in there. Well I save little things in there, in the Edit
directory, and once a month I sift through it and delete the crap I
dont need.
So I was viewing each file separately to make sure I reallly didnt
need it when I made my way to a letter.txt. Out of instinct, I
assumed it was probably some reader mail regarding RCN, so when I read
the first few lines :
Okay, I lied, I did kinda write what I said earlier : Thats
because I thought knew that if I didnt, Id probably stutter and make
myself look stupid :. Heres what I said or tried to say - in Email
format
I was just a tad confused to say the least. I decided to read on,
perhaps the next few lines would reveal a bit more :
When I see you at school, I see a kind and generous person. Youre
especially pretty when you give one of your pretty smiles : ...
And that was the kicker. OH MY FUCKING GOD!!! Hah, now I
remembered! Yes, it was about a month ago, I was at Xenons house, we
were working on some coding for RCN, when we got a call from the
legendary Rebel Chicken. Of course, I asked him, much like I always did
at the beginning of a conversation, about the girl situation or lack
thereof. He told me of a new revelation in the story. Apparently he
had just gotten Emilys AOL give her a break, you cant bitch at a girl
that Rebel likes for having AOL, I dont know why, but you just cant!
address and decided to email her. So I asked him what he said to her,
and of course, he had the whole thing saved in his saved-messages
folder. I told him to read it to me, and I guess he heard some clicking
in the background so he assumed I was typing what he was saying.
He quickly yelled at me to quit typing it, but I said Wha? Oh,
thats not me, its Xenon coding!!! Heh, he bought it. But of course,
he reads a little faster than I type, so I told him Wait! Im gonna
say whatever you say twice so that Xenon can hear it too! Heh,
meanwhile I was frantically typing into my edit window. When I would
get too far behind, I would tell him Hold on, Xenons mom is talking, I
cant hear! So here, read on. This is young love in progress!!!
But I havent seen you smile much lately :. I see you here and
then, but you always seem kinda unhappy :... Well, I dont know why
youre sad.. :, but my guess is that there are people out there who
dont appreciate you. That might be true, and if it is, then those
people who dont appreciate you are just some of the most ignorant
people around.
I hope what I say makes sense to you : may be itll help make you
feel better :. By the way, my email thing snail mails, it might make
it to your account just a tiny little late :. Ill see you tomorrow at
school : - AND, be happy : youre too nice of a person to have to feel
sad!
BAAAAAAAHAAHAHAHAH! Damn, Ill never forget that day. Check out
all those : and :s!!! I guess we know what Rebel Chicken does when
hes nervous. Anyway, I dont know about you, but I thought that was a
pretty sweet letter, and though he makes it totally obvious that hes
never talked to a girl in his life, its kind of cute and maybe the
girls could dig it. So you ask the outcome of this? Well, fear not,
the letter didnt lead to any sort of relationship, read past issues of
RCN and Chicken-Watch to find out what happened to Rebel and Emily.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this issue of Chicken-Watch, and, though I
dont THINK theres any more to say, our Chicken always finds SOMETHING
to make us laugh.
