ok you silly little freaks.. lets see...
oldschool style number 1...
the basic phlash method
start out with some random shapes.. try to make one good working block
to play with..
i dont actually use these steps, i do it all from the end.. but this is the
easy way i guess..
3 or 4 lines high is good..
now you want to add some extra storys
something like that.. or at the top, or both
now you want to make it not look like a stupid
block.. ie add some variations
heres some good ascii shapes... /:.,!@*-+?
a top line you can see i just deformed the block alot...
is a must, / a good rule is to not use any in the whole
you can / / pic.. or to use tons of it..
make good /
designs // make up your own style for shaping ie, dont steal
with it. mine.. heeh
classic little overhang, for style
i always do this,

welp, now you have your basic shape.. just

i shortened the top and bottom lines on the left, and make new ones on the left
now you want to start working on the letters, making them look like
a letters. this is whatever style you can/want to do.. you can either
change the hell out of your basic block shape or just play with the insides

crisp.. theres no way in hell you can read it, is look fat, and ps are
hard to do without modifying the shape alot..

well.. both of those are kinda gay.. but i cant just change my whole
example now.. can i? hehee.. ok.. well. now you need to shade it..
which is pretty easy.. you dont even hafta to it, but i like too
ok.. lets face it, theres tons of ways to shade it.. the most common
is the double line method.. like above .. i went alittle overboard,,
try to only double / or s.. you can do anything though.. try to
make them all in one direction / for instence.. and try to either do it
lightly, or go fucking nuts.. whos going to care but you?
another good thing that i and alot of european artists like to do is use
high ascii to shade.. it sucks for people on amigas or using notepad to view
it, but fuck them.. i mixed and match with the first method
the ones i used are probably the most common, but i use tons of other ones..
go fucking crazy with them.. theres also the :. method.. anyways..
now for some gimics.. the most important part of ascii.. the font you do
shows your skill and style, but your gimics / deco is what people really love.
the most common background gimics are the : and . characters..
my favortie way to use them is the :....: sorta new school line patterns...
its really easy once you know wtf youre doing, just go with the flow, no
ripping..
now we can kick it with some jp shade.. i like to use s for everything..
its my call sign.. dont copy me or ill chop your nuts off and mail them to
korea.. just fill in the blanks.. i also shade with this sometimes.. its
kinda ugly though..

save some room for your initials and the name of the logo you just finished..

another cool method is to make alittle box or boxes it sits on, just go
crazy when to do this. i like to make a :. ring around it.. its not
big enough to do it effectivly here..

the second ascii method is alittle harder, totally random shapped characters,
its something that usually just ends up happening..
i cant really demonstrate it.. doh
just remember, you can use the block method ALOT.. mHZ rmrs uses one
like me, just different.. looks something like this.. im not good at this

coloring is simple.. and i dont think ill go into it.. just remember,
real ami/x style coloring uses only the 7 base colors.. no matter how
ugly you think it looks.. alot of green and brown kicking..

sence as a whole. im so busy nowadays with work and school, irc is the last
