Another great month rolls by for the CiA Music Department. The music
guys are doing a great job and the group is riding on a tidal wave of
excitement over our newly formed division that just keeps impressing the
fuck out of us.
Last month, we had an awesome showing from Cerebral Neurosis, who gave
us so much stuff we released a music disk of his very own. If you havent
seen it already, its being affectionately dubbed Ride the Lightning, as
it is an entire collection of Metallica jams by CN. This month, Carrion
decided not to be shown up by his counterpart, and let go of all of the
music hes been working on. Its a great collection of some great tunes
hes been crafting over the past few months. Check em out.
We have quite a bit going on here, so lets get right to it. The ansi
guys, always ready to help out and really happy to have these guys as a part
of the group, have decided to sponsor a contest designed to help promote our
music division, and add some flavor to the group. In the spirit of Damage,
the really neat idea put together by the former ReM music department, a
group that once show-cased Beaners work, weve decided to name our music
disks, too. So, we need a name. Heres what we have in mind. Come up with
a name for our monthly music disk, and if we use it, youll get an ansi
and/or lit for the bulletin board of your choosing, from the artist of your
choosing. Fill out the entry ASCII enclosed in this months music disk
and follow the instructions for entering.
We would also like to mention that we are in need of a coder that would
be interested in giving us a hand on a music player. Our previous player
was nice, but iCE Breaker is a little too busy to screw with it for awhile.
We need an experienced coder that needs a home. It can be coded in the
language of your choosing. We are primarily interested in a player that
we can help design that will play various sound formats, and will support a
number of different sound cards. If interested, call either of the two
numbers listed at the bottom of this text.
Now, on to the biggie. We are also interested in appointing someone
to spearhead our music team. As much as I am enjoying compiling the disks
each month, and getting to jam to the new music, I really dont feel I have
the experience and qualifications to recognize talented artists, and do
this position justice. Here are the qualifications needed to fill this
spot in the group..
- Enjoy music, and/or be a music composer yourself
- Be able to make occasional contact with current members,
HQs, and other staff members LD calling ability
- Decent grammatical skills for the NFO each month
- An understanding that you will be doing most of the work,
I.E. calling, compiling packs, sifting through new work,
evaluation of applicants, etc..
If you feel you are the right person for the job, call either of the below
numbers. The position is first and foremost offered to current members,
as long as the above requirements are met.
