Some artpacks commemorate a special occasion, or mark a
vast pulling together of many hands, all travelling
together and working toward a common shared goal, a theme to celebrate or some
other kind of collective challenge. This is not one of those. This is just us
checking in with the creators in our community and seeing what theyve been
cooking up on their own, one of our chaotic grab-bag unthemed artpacks. We
the rest of the year for themed releases.
Lots of good work here, however, with artists sometimes pursuing personal
projects. You will notice immediately that Blippypixel has been taking his
tablet out to the park and making fingerpainted reproductions of the graffiti
he sees on his travels, boiled down to their BBC Micro hirez essence. You
will catch Melodia springing a few tracker modules from deep storage, where
they have not been heard by anyone for three decades. You will see the
tireless MC Fresher carrying on his one-man advocacy for ANSI-style Unicode
art in DurDraw. And you will see Mavenmob and Zeus II carrying on their own
ANSI art exercises.
And the rest of us doing our thing, too!
Id like to thank Zeus II for providing the FILEID.DIZ artwork at the last
minute, CoaXCable for the infofile framing artwork here and 2Stoned for his
much-belated take on ConsoleJockeys MIST-30 Mistfunk logo template used atop
this months memberlist.
And Id like to thank Deluks for the killer ASCII art promo!
Also, thanks to Xero, who likely has no idea his handwork is included in this
collection. Well, if we dont use it, what is it for, even?
Well be back throughout the summer and into the
Autumn and Winter. Im not going to jinx us by
making hard and fast proclamations about themes
and deadlines that will from that point become
impossible to fulfil, instead well just
see what we come up with and go from there.
If you just cant wait to find
out, we can all find out together
what weve got by participating in
the next Blender improvised computer
art compo the weekend of July 19th!
